Limited Warranty
Steorn warrants that your Steornlab Hall Probe will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 1 year from the date of purchase. This warranty is non-transferable from the original purchaser, except where such exclusion is prohibited by applicable law. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights dependant on your jurisdiction. Any accompanying software is covered by its own separate license.
This warranty does not cover any issue resulting from (a) normal wear and tear; (b) defects caused by misuse of the Hardware including, but not limited to, improper care of the Hardware or usage outside the Hardware's defined specifications (such as connection to an incorrect voltage supply or exposure to extreme temperature); (c) disassembly and/or modification of the Hardware by anyone other than Steorn or its authorised representative.
If the Hardware's serial number has been removed, altered or otherwise rendered illegible this warranty shall not be enforceable.
Remedies
Steorn's entire liability and your exclusive remedy for any breach of warranty shall be, at Steorn's option, to (a) repair or replace the Hardware, or (b) refund the price paid provided that in either case the Hardware as well as the original sales receipt is returned to Steorn or its authorised representative. Replacement Hardware is warranted for the longer of thirty (30) days or the remainder of the original warranty period or any additional warranty period which is required by applicable law. Steorn reserves the right to use new and/or reconditioned parts to effect any repair or replacement. Any products or parts replaced by Steorn shall become the property of Steorn. Shipping and handling charges may apply.

Disclaimer of Warranties
Steorn provides the Hardware on an "as is" basis, and you use the Hardware at your sole risk. Save for the limited warranty provided herein, Steorn makes no warranty that the Hardware will meet your requirements; nor that the operation of the Hardware will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, accurate or error free. Steorn expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind insofar as is permissible by law, whether express, implied or statutory, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, of satisfactory quality, of fitness for a particular purpose, of quiet enjoyment and non-infringement of third party rights. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or limitations on applicable statutory rights, so the above limitations may not apply to you, in which case any such warranty is limited to the minimum warranty allowed by applicable law.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE EXTENT NOT PROHIBITED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL STEORN BE LIABLE FOR DAMAGES OF ANY TYPE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY LOST PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, OR FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE ANY STEORN PRODUCT OR SERVICE WHETHER UNDER A THEORY OF CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), PRODUCTS LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF STEORN HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES AND NOTWITHSTANDING THE FAILURE OF ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF ANY REMEDY. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OF LIABILITY OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THIS LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. IN NO EVENT SHALL STEORN'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES (OTHER THAN AS MAY NOT BE DISCLAIMED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW) EXCEED THE PRICE PAID BY YOU FOR USE OF THE HARDWARE. THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS SHALL NOT APPLY WHERE DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY ARISE AS A DIRECT RESULT OF STEORN'S PROVEN NEGLIGENCE.
