SteornLab Capabilities
Simulation
Utilising finite element software electromagnetic simulations can be performed in 3D to calculate the forces and torques involved in configurations of permanent or electro-magnets. Used at the concept stage it provides valuable information in terms of the feasibility of the concept. The effect of varying the full set of engineering parameters on the performance can be determined in the design stage. This allows for a rapid process from concept evaluation to design optimization.
Design
Our CAD system allows the production of 3D designs, bringing concepts to “life” and allowing engineers to produce mechanical drawings, animations, rendered images and bill of materials documentation for engineering projects. Design capabilities include complex surface shapes, structural frames and 2D work. 3D outputs are suitable for third party analysis software, manufacturing and rapid prototyping. Analysis available includes limited structural Finite Element Analysis.
Prototype and Testing
A prototype is used as part of the product design process to allow engineers and designers the ability to explore design alternatives, test expectations and confirm performance prior to starting production of a new product.
Performing physical tests to evaluate prototypes against expected performance criteria established by simulation or from analysis during the design phase is carried out using an extensive range of lab based test equipment. This process allows for the refinement of the design, ensuring that the pre-production units will operate as required.
Patent and Trademark
SteornLab provides an Intellectual Property (IP) advisory service. Services include prior art searches and patent application preparation together with submission for trademarks and patents as well as general advice on IP jurisdictions, filing strategy and expected costs.
With this level of work completed in your patent or trademark filing you can avoid the unnecessary legal cost associated with starting an application from the beginning.
