About Steorn
Steorn (pronounced /stjɔrn/ in English) is a Norse word meaning to guide or manage.
To guide, direct and manage
Steorn was founded in 2000 to provide technical project management skills to the dot-com market, this saw the team focused on delivering complex technologies in innovative ways. From the early days working with many of Ireland's blue chip organisations such as Bank of Ireland and Ffyes PLC this approach has seen Steorn working at the cutting edge of many progressive industries.
During 2002 the company turned its attention to projects requiring a more hands on approach in the areas of electronics and software, our in-house ability leading to successful outcomes on innovative projects in anti-fraud technologies for both domestic organisations and companies such as Microsoft.
The Steorn team was instrumental in the development of core technologies that address counterfeit crime in areas such as plastic card fraud and optical disc fraud while also providing services to the international law enforcement community.
Technology Projects
The Steorn team brings together a wealth of experience from diverse industries including: Energy, Engineering, Research and Information Technology. These combined skills and our dynamic approach to the market have been instrumental in delivering many of our complex projects and technologies.
Steorn has an enviable track record and a reputation as the 'go-to' organisation for companies wishing to reliably take technology from concept to reality.
In 2004, while working on a remote surveillance system for the banking industry that needed either solar or wind power, tests of a custom designed generator lead to Steorn turning its experience to its own new core technology - Orbo.
Today
With over seven years research and development into electromagnetic effects, we provide services and products to test and evaluate designs for magnetic systems while bringing Orbo technology to market.
