Commercialisation through the SKDB

The SKDB is the Orbo technology commercialisation platform. The platform will support experimentation and commercialisation of Orbo in two phases. Engineers and developers can purchase a Developer License, which allows experimentation and application-specific development of Orbo for any area. Once Developer License holders are ready to begin the manufacture and sale of Orbo-powered products, they can then enter the second phase by purchasing a Commercial License. This allows full, worldwide commercial development of Orbo-powered applications for most products (subject to certain restricted application areas* which will require specific license arrangements to be negotiated with Steorn). You can also use the SKDB to help build your own development and production team.
Access to the Developer License is available now. Subsequent access to the Commercial License will be available via direct contact with Steorn. The Commercial License will require payment of a License fee and royalties calculated on the number of products or components manufactured and their power output capacity. Again, these fees will be priced to facilitate widespread commercial adoption of Orbo technology.
*Commercial deployment of Orbo technology into Mobile Consumer Electronics, Automotive & Transportation and Aerospace is not currently available under either license structure. Contact Steorn to register your interest in any of these areas.
